Ingredients

  • 450 g (1 lb) Italian sausage, mild or spicy
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 cup Alfredo-style cream sauce
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 500 g (18–20 oz) frozen cheese tortellini
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • ¼ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Dried parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the Italian sausage and chopped onion. Cook, breaking up the meat, until browned and fully cooked. Drain excess fat if needed.
  2. Reduce heat to medium. Add the minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Stir in the Alfredo sauce, marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to combine.
  4. Add the frozen tortellini directly to the skillet. Stir until evenly coated in sauce. Cover and simmer for 3–5 minutes, stirring once, until tender.
  5. Sprinkle mozzarella evenly over the top. Either cover the skillet and let the cheese melt from the heat, or place under a hot oven broiler for 2–3 minutes until bubbly.
  6. Remove from heat, garnish with dried parsley, and serve immediately.

Tips

  • Brown the sausage well for deeper flavor.
  • If the sauce thickens too much, add a splash of milk or water.
  • Fresh tortellini can be used—reduce cooking time slightly.

Storage

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently on the stove with a splash of milk to restore creaminess.
