Description

This Seafood Mac & Cheese Bake blends tender macaroni with shrimp, crab, and crawfish in a rich, creamy cheese sauce. Baked until bubbly and lightly golden, it’s a comforting dish with a luxurious twist.

Ingredients

Pasta

  • 450 g (1 lb) elbow macaroni

Seafood

  • 400 g jumbo shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 200 g lump crab meat, drained
  • 250 g crawfish tails, thawed and rinsed

Cheese Sauce

  • 3 cups heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 300 g processed melting cheese, cubed
  • 2 cups shredded Colby Jack cheese

Seasoning

  • 2 tsp seafood seasoning
  • 2 tsp Cajun seasoning (adjust to taste)
  • 1½ tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • Salt, to taste

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the macaroni until just al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a saucepan over low heat, melt butter with the heavy cream. Add the cubed melting cheese and stir continuously until smooth.
  3. Stir in seafood seasoning, Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, black pepper, and salt to taste.
  4. In a skillet, sauté the shrimp for 2–3 minutes per side until opaque. Warm crawfish gently, then fold in crab carefully.
  5. Preheat oven to 350°F (177°C). Combine pasta with half of the cheese sauce, then gently fold in the seafood.
  6. Transfer to a greased baking dish, pour remaining sauce on top, and sprinkle with shredded Colby Jack cheese.
  7. Bake uncovered for 12–15 minutes until bubbly and lightly golden.
  8. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Tips

  • Do not overcook seafood before baking to keep it tender.
  • Freshly shredded cheese melts more smoothly.
  • A splash of lemon juice before serving enhances flavor.
