Toasted Sesame Ginger Salmon – Easy Weeknight Recipe

Toasted Sesame Ginger Salmon – Easy Weeknight Recipe

This toasted sesame ginger salmon is one of those recipes that feels restaurant-level, yet comes together easily at home. The salmon is marinated in a savory-sweet mixture of soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic, and fresh ginger, then broiled until tender with a lightly crisp exterior. A simple honey sesame glaze finishes the dish with balance and depth.

Whether served with rice, pasta, or tucked into toasted buns for a sandwich, this salmon adapts beautifully and makes excellent leftovers.

  • 1 1/2 pounds raw salmon
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons toasted sesame oil

  • 1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly grated ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon toasted sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place a wire rack on top. Lightly spray the rack with nonstick spray.
  2. In a large bowl or baking dish, whisk together olive oil, sesame oil, rice vinegar, brown sugar, soy sauce, garlic, and ginger until fully combined.
  3. Add the salmon to the marinade, turning to coat evenly. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  4. Preheat the oven broiler.
  5. Remove the salmon from the marinade and place it directly on the prepared wire rack. Season lightly with salt and black pepper.

  7. Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle with green onions and toasted sesame seeds. Drizzle with the honey sesame glaze before serving.
